RAC Encyclopedia - part 4

The early nineties involved a musical revolution in the Czech Republic with an explosion of new bands that were not only focused in Prague, the capital, but sprinkled throughout the territory, but the band that gave more to talk about was with no doubt Orlik . Today you can walk down in any street in this country and ask someone over 20 years if knows a song from Orlik and be sure that the answer will be yes.
Orlik was the first 100% skinhead band in the Czech Republic. Created in 1987 by Daniel Landa and David Matásek the band did not started to be known until 1990 when the group released their first work titled 'Oi! - Milos Frýba for president!'. Something curious since M. Frýba was a famous television presenter of the 60’s. Their sound was a harsh Oi! with touches of folk and melodic rhythms in some of their songs. His first album had more than fifteen songs and from my point of view contains one of the most significant music material of the Czech scene, the central part of the LP since the song 'Oi! Oi! Oi!', 'Pernik', 'Orlik', 'Faschos' and 'Skinheadskej stat' ' are a masterpiece.... without forgetting other songs of the same album 'Skinhead', 'Euroskin' and 'Vozoba hradba' which for me are awesome. And to prove that little bit melodic touch highlight without no doubt the song 'My proti nam".
This work was widely criticized for his patriotism and racism, for his lyrics against gypsies, but it was a success because among other things spoke about real social issues. But on the other side of Orlik tried to separate themselves from Nazism with a clear allusion to the German skinheads in his song ‘Faschos’: "You can come and drink our great beer, but you should better stay in Germany if what you want is to walk with your swastikas". You can not imagine the impact and success that had the band in those years.... Orlik 'Oi! - Milos Frýba for president! " sold 150.000 copies, only in the Czech Republic, which was an unprecedented success in the skinhead world.
The following year, 1991, Orlik stroke again with their second work 'Demise' (Death), a controversial album from beginning to end. The album opens with 'Bílá League' whose lyrics struck across the country for talking about illegal immigration and the gypsy delinquency. Here is an aproximated translation of 'Bílá League':
'I have nothing against tourists, if they want to walk around here and look,
However isnot possible that they come demanding a job
What was that brought them here from so far away?
Dark eyes, dark skin, will never be my friends.
White League, White Power, .....
Clean your boots, the force will come to meet you.
Another moral, in other ways, there is no way to believe in miracles
their false words turn into knives,
Why then call us murderers?
White League, White Power ,....
Clean your boots, the force will come to meet you.
Another moral, other ways, there is no way to believe in miracles
their false words turn into knives,
Why then they call us murderers?
White League, White Power ,....
Clean your boots, the force will come to meet you."
You can imagine the uproar among the "politically correct" after 'Demise' was published. This album had also more than fifteen songs and featured a wide range of protest issues. For me their best songs are 'Djovi metr', 'Skinhead' (related with the punk band Try Sestry of which we speak in the introduction) 'Boty' and 'Teror'. This LP without leaving the Oi! sound I would say it has more experimental touches, clearly in "Minuta Ticha', or ' zpráva pro tisk ', where the voice tone is changed and also the rhythm of the song, or the beginning of "Ty vole, Láio'.
Among the audience of the Orlik concerts were large numbers of skins that had some bad behaviour (which I must say that annoyed the members of the band), these events put Orlik in the spotlight of the media which found an opportunity to attack the group until it was outlawed and persecuted. The title 'Demise' was a premonition and this was the last album of the group that finally disbanded. But what the political skins never forgave was that Orlik appeared on television asking to stop the fighting with the gypsy community.
After the fall of Orlik, Daniel Landa, twenty-five year old, continued his musical career on his own and in 1993 he recorded his first solo album 'Valcik' which marked the beginning of a career until today, as Daniel Landa is still active in music, with seventeen solo albums, the latest two in 2009. At the beginning of his solo career he signed a contract with EMI, that has the rights of all his songs, including Orlik songs. Today Landa, married and with two children, declared himself as just a patriot but is publicly identified as ultra-nationalist. He is a very active and collaborates in activities as diverse as film or theatre, rallies or a foundation for safe driving. You can know more from him in
Curiously, the Czech Republic's Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek quoted in 2008 in the parliament verses of Daniel Landa, taken from his song 'Forbes' from his album 'Smrtihlav '(1998) which states: ' ...even the biggest fool has its limits. "
Orlik's greatness is that it was the first Czech skinhead band that had the courage to open the way for a legion of skin bands that flooded the Czechs stages in the early 90s. And I would add that today, twenty years later, many bands, skins or not, play Orlik covers in their concerts. Without doubt, Orlik is a musical legend inside and outside the Czech Republic.

Violent Storm

A R.A.C. band out of Cradiff, Wales, Violent Storm mixed up punk and metal influences to make a totally unique sound for their time, with lyrical content of racial issues, class, the IRA, and hooliganism. Violent Storm got their start in 1986 and lasted until 1992, when 3 out of 4 band members died in a car accident on their way to the airport to play one of Spain's first R.A.C. festivals. The festival went on as planned, but the bands added a moment of silence for their departed friends. Billy(singer), went on to form the WP band "Celtic Warrior", which was named after Violent Storm's first and only full length album. Not too long after the car accident S.H.A.R.P. Skinheads branded Violent Storm's local pub with the words :"FOUR DOWN ONE TO GO". "Celtic Warrior" still tries to keep Violent Storm alive by playing their songs at shows. Billy also went on to be in another WP band called "The Order" and write lyrics for Brazilian band "Fist of Steel".

The band was formed in 1992 by two teenage skinheads, by Geri and Gábor in Sopron. The first line up was connected to this town, but during the years it has changed a lot. We have shows across the country regulary since 1995. Our first album ’Szent Háború’ (Holy War) was recorded in December 1996 and it was released on tape in February 1997. The line up at that time was: Geri – vocal, Gábor – guitar, Thomas – drums, Balu – bass. In the same year Balu quit the band and Cobi came to replace him, and he was playing with us till 2007. Our second recording came out in 2000, it’s called ’Ez vagyok…’ (That’s i am). Gábor left the band in 2001, so PPH joined us one year later. In the fall of the same year we got an invitation from Jonesy to help him out as a backup band, on few gigs in the legendary english skinhead band English Rose. Alongside him we played in several countries like England, Italy, Belgium, France, Slovenia and Hungary in 2003, and we released our next cd ’Hate Parade’. We worked together with English Rose until 2005, and we recorded a split cd ’United Forces’. In the end of 2006 we had to change a member again, Jabba came in place of Thomas behind the drums. We recorded our next cd ’Politikailag nem korrekt’ (Politically incorrect) with him, which was released in October 2007. The band was 15 years old then, so we celebrated this anniversary with a good atmosphere gig in Budapest. About 600 people attended the show, and there were plenty comrades who sadly didn’t have room in the club, so stood outside. In the early 2008 Jabba left the band, Geri (Turulvér, Voice of justice) replaced him for a while, and then Cipős joined in Vérszerződés. Since Cobi quit in the fall of 2007, Hando plays the bass in the band. From the beginning we had shows all across Hungary, and we get invitations to play abroad as well. We already had the honour to play in the following countries: Germany, Czech, Croatia, Slovenia, Greece, Bulgaria, Italy, France, Belgium and England. Beside our own albums, our songs were released on several Hungarian and international compilation and split CD’s. Interview with the band you can find HERE

Salem March 2010

On 9th of December was the 10th anniversary since the tragic death of Daniel Wretström – a 17 year old Swedish patriot who was brutally killed by multiracial gang of scumbags in 2000.
The Swedish Nationalists organized as an annual gathering launched by the station and Rönninge path crossed the suburb of Salem. 185,000 leaflets were distributed in previous days, and equal number of flyers "adorned" the streets of Stockholm to make its event in as many Swedes could. A long campaign which was the occasion of the 10 years from some crime, which came to a climax the uncontrolled action rogue elements in the country, mostly non white foreigners.

More than an estimated 1000 participants this year was at a silent for another year of emotional state, with hundreds of torches to give light and color in the icy atmosphere of the Swedish capital. A quiet but very dynamic event, a silent but dignified protest against violence and crime, illegal immigration creates.

Bellow there is a emotional exclusive report by our comrade Max Merten who have visited the event:

" SALEM 2010 " from Horst Wessel to Daniel Wretström

Finally the great moment arrived. The Helenic comrades will honour Daniel Wretström.European solidarity in action.the meeting point for us who would travel to Salem from Stockholm, was the Central Station. The place was full of cops in uniform and undercover trying to terrorize the comrades and prevent them from marching.Around 15.12 comrades from Stockholm and other European nationalists, we started the way to Salem by train, followed by the ZOG's puppets-the cops.A distance of 30 minutes took us more than an hour.

We finally arrived at Salem were we met hundreds of comrades preparing for the march. We all went in row and after lighting our torches we started marching to the point where our young comrade was murdered by a multiculti gang.Silence everywhere,as we were marching..too emotional feeling..the drums were biting. cops around us and some pathetic antifa and antinazi on the left of the road protected by the puppets. However no one of us made the mistake that ZOG wanted! We continue our marching, the scums didnt even exist.we had a Holy purpose,to honour our fallen brother.

After around one hour we arrived at the monument,in a road full of snow,in a freezing evening..More than 1.000 European nationalists, methodically and in military style lighted a candle and left a flower to the monument. Some words spoken and songs played in the memory of Daniel..Wish the fire of our torches light the fire of awaking in whole European Nations and finally get free. Daniel Wretström PRESENT!

Freedom for Pedro Varela

Barcelona Bookshop Owner Pedro Varela Europe's newest Free Speech Martyr, sent to Prison For Spreading "Racist" Propaganda
As one European free speech martyr, Ernst Zundel, was recently released from prison, another one takes his place in the EU gulag. A Spanish court sentenced Barcelona
bookshop owner Pedro Varela to two years and nine months in prison for spreading racist propaganda. The court ruled that Varela spread ideas favourable to genocide that
denigrated Jews, blacks and other groups through the books he sold at his Barcelona bookshop and by organizing lectures. Varela was also ordered to pay a fine of 2,880 euros
(3,945 dollars). Prosecutors had asked for a four-year prison sentence.

The court rejected Varela's defence that he belonged to no political party and that there were no banned books in Spain. During the trial, Varela said “I am not saying there was not
persecution of the Jews, but so far nobody has found these famous bars of soap into which they were supposedly transformed. And I doubt the numbers of the dead would reach the mythical 6 million.”

This represents Pedro Varela's third time through the Spanish justice system over free speech issues. In 2006, Varela was arrested on Holocaust denial and justification of genocide charges, convicted on the justification charge, and sentenced to seven months in prison after a 2008 trial, but avoided incarceration at the time because he lacked a prior criminal
record. Previously, on November 16th, 1998, a Barcelona criminal court found Varela guilty of inciting racial hatred and of denying or justifying genocide, and sentenced him to five
years imprisonment and a fine of 720,000 pesetas (about $5,000). The conviction was suspended by the Catalonia Regional Court on April 30th, 1999 when the three judges of the Audencia court in Barcelona unanimously declared that the law under which he had been convicted may have violated Article 20 of the Spanish Constitution, which guarantees the rights of free speech and free expression of opinion.

Ultimately, a Constitutional Tribunal sided with the provincial court, deciding in 2007 to decriminalise a presumption that was included in the reform of the Penal Code of 1996. Article 607.2 anticipates punishments of up to two years in jail for whoever, “by any means” diffuses “ideas or doctrines that deny or justify” the Holocaust. The Tribunal found that this clause limited a fundamental right, the right to freedom of expression, since it punished the diffusion of ideas “without demanding any other element, such as affronts, or inciting to attack groups.”

In 2007, Pedro Varela was instrumental in assisting Dr. David Duke in launching his Spanish-language translation of his book, "Jewish Supremacism". The two launched a joint book tour for Dr. Duke.
The magistrate in Penal Court 15 in Barcelona order that Varela should be taken into jail for one year and three months as he had a previous sentence. Normally prison sentences
under two years are automatically suspended in Spain, but in this case the judge has said no suspension should occur and the defendant should go to jail, although that decision could be appealed against. The judge said with the earlier case Varela should now serve two years and nine months in jail.

The judge said that the defendant’s behaviour clearly demonstrated a criminal trajectory and that he was dangerous from a penal point of view. He considered the books being sold
were a clear insult to the Jewish community and other minorities.

The appeal was rejected and last 09-12-10 Pedro Varela entered in the prison to serve 1 years and 3 monts.

You can write in Spanish, English or German. Background of Pedro Varela

Since its founding in 1965, Círculo Español de Amigos de Europa (CEDADE, Spanish Circle of Friends of Europe) was one of the oldest and most active neo-Nazi groups in Europe.

This "cultural association", based in Barcelona, was led until January 1993 by the convicted neo-Nazi Pedro Varela. After Varela's successors decided to dissolve the
group's "organizational structure" at a special general meeting in Madrid on 12 October 1993 Nevertheless, Varela has continued to control CEDADE's extensive international
publishing network as well as its Barcelona bookshop, Europa. On 11 December 1996, however, in a carefully planned and unprecedented operation, the regional Catalonian police
force raided the bookshop's premises, seizing some 12,700 books and arrested Varela
The Mossos entered Europa at 6.45 p.m. and completed the operation in the early hours of the following morning. They seized a total of 12,700 books of Nazi and neo-Nazi
propaganda and Holocaust-denial material written in English, German and Spanish. Many were already packed, ready to be sent abroad. In addition to books, the Mossos seized:
400 posters and leaflets; 15 flags bearing Spain's pre-constitutional emblem, the Nazi swastika and the Celtic Cross; 80 videotapes of xenophobic content; several Holocaust-denial catalogues; and brooches, badges and tie-pins sporting Nazi symbols. They also found proofs of books, evidence for the theory that the Europa bookshop not only distributes material printed in other countries but also produces its own.

Around midnight, detectives arrested thirty-nine-year-old Varela at his home. The following afternoon, Varela was granted provisional liberty by the court provided that he report
fortnightly to the court that is investigating his case. Varela had already had a brush with the law in 1992 in Austria, where he served a four-month sentence for having publicly
declared Hitler a "hero of heroes".

The police operation was planned over several months under the supervision of José María Mena, chief prosecutor of Catalonia's supreme court, and was the first in Spain to lead to
an arrest on charges arising from the new penal code. In fact, the police and the judiciary waited for the new penal code to come into effect in order that they could invoke the necessary legal instruments. Some of the books seized may well fall foul of article 607 of the new code, which states in part that "the diffusion, by any means, of ideas or doctrines that deny or justify the crimes specified in the previous items [crimes of genocide], or that attempt to re-establish regimes or institutions that condone practices leading to such crimes, will be punished with a prison sentence of one to two years". The court may also be able to prove that a violation of intellectual property has been committed in this case,
due to the allegedly illegal reproduction of some of the confiscated material.

The hub of the extensive CEDADE publishing network was considered to be the most important distributor of neo-Nazi propaganda in the whole of Europe. In its 1994 report, the
German Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz (Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution) called Pedro Varela-the owner of Europa and the ex-leader of CEDADE-"Spain's Nazi Führer" and named him as Barcelona's representative of the European neo-Nazi movement as well as its treasurer.

Skinhead Magazine (in english) # 9

The 9th issue of the magazine came out with a huge delay, but the reason for it was just fantastic. The editor of the zine Poli has a new born baby boy – I think we’ll all agree this is the best thing which can happened in the man’s life!!! Inside the zine there is a big and very detailed report about the Czech – Slovakian skinhead scene. The story starts from the late 80’s with some apolitical bands like Oi! Brigade, forward to the musical avalanche from the early 90’s with bands like legendary Orlik who had a special section in the report. More interesting bands from those times which are mentioned are Valasska Liga, Vlajka and Branik first pure NS band from Czech Republic (not to be misunderstood with Bulgarian RAC band BraNNik).
The story goes further with more well known bands such as Kratky Proces, Utok, Excalibur, Buldok and Conflict 88 which play even nowadays. It’s really an interesting read, very informative, full of factology and the report will continue in next two issues of the zine. As an addition there is interview with the person behind the Crime Pride webzine. To sum it up another excellent work from Poli, a must have for every Czech/Slovak skinhead who respects the history of his native scene. As an end I must confess that this magazine is a great inspiration for me and NS Revolt web blog!
